FAQ

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions we receive. However, please feel free to Contact Us with any other questions you may have.

Are Australian Shepherds good house dogs?

Although Aussies are super outdoorsy, they are best suited to indoor living, like most companion pets. Many working Aussies even live indoors, these days. That said, as long as the conditions are safe, Australian Shepherds can sleep outside.

Do Aussies pick one person?

Australian Shepherds are known for their fierce loyalty with one person. However, that doesn’t mean every Shepherd will act like that. Some Shepherds might not build a particularly strong bond with any one family member. Others might like one of you more than another.

Are Australian Shepherds clingy, attention seekers?

Aussies can be very clingy. They crave human companionship and love being included in pretty much
everything you do, including being involved in all family activity. Since they require an active lifestyle,
they will want to join in everything and anything that is going on around them.

Are Aussies known to be aggressive?

No. These dogs are not naturally aggressive and make excellent family pets in many homes — they’re active, loyal, and loving dogs.

Are Australian Shepherds good with other pets?

An active yet easy-going dog, the Australian shepherd loves to romp with children and tends to get along well with other pets. Australian shepherds are great family pets, herding animals, police dogs and competitors in obedience trials.

Are there special “Safety Instructions” when bringing my new puppy home?

Despite your best effort to make your new puppy feel at home, he/she is still likely to feel stressed for a couple days. This stress is most frequently a factor in weakening your puppy’s immune system. Therefore, we highly recommend NOT taking your puppy outside your home/yard until it is at least 14 weeks old, unless cleared by your veterinarian.

Do you offer Delivery Options?

  • Sometimes, when our schedules allow, we will drive one hour in your direction. This will save you two hours’ drive time.
  • We will also be happy to meet you at our home/farm.
  • Air Transportation: Your puppy arrives to the international airport of your choice within 24 hours of leaving our home, weather permitting.
  • Ground Transportation: The puppy will arrive at your door. Depending on where you live, the puppy may be on the truck for up to 3-4 days receiving the BEST possible care.
